Transparency

I believe honesty and integrity should be at the heart of every decision the Lakota school board members make. Board members are given the unique privilege and responsibility of advocating on behalf of over 17,000 students. Board members must hold themselves to a high standard of transparency, advocating for open dialogue and serving honorably on behalf of the voices who elect them. Board members should always seek to serve with no agenda outside of what is in the best interest of our students, our families and our community members. If elected, I will govern with full transparency to the community I am so privileged to represent!

Accountability

Board members should always serve with the intention of being the voice of students in our district, our families, and our community. Board members must be willing to ask tough questions when needed and always advocate with student safety and achievement as its guiding principles. If elected, I will seek to represent all voices in the Lakota community in which I live, work and serve.

Fiscal Responsibility

With a district the size of Lakota, board members have an incredible responsibility to advocate in ways that are fiscally responsible. Board members are simply stewards of our local tax revenue and their fiscal policy should always reflect one primary goal, student achievement. Board members have a responsibility to elect policies that are sustainable long term and allow reserves to provide a safety net for unforeseen financial needs. If elected, I will seek to steward our community tax revenue as if it were my own, responsibly and sustainably!

Student Achievement

Every decision a board member makes should always be viewed through the lens of improving student achievement. Board members should ask the question often if their policies provide the best opportunity for success after our students leave our district. Are we equipping students with the right tools today, so they can be successful and productive citizen in the future? If elected, student achievement will be at the heart of every decision I make.

No Critical Race Theory

I adamantly oppose teaching our children any element of critical race theory. Any teaching that supports a divisive curriculum has no place in our district! The America I came to was one that gave everyone an equal chance to succeed. If you take advantage of the opportunities and work hard you will fulfill your dream. My family has taken advantage of the opportunities America offers by getting a strong education and working hard. America is a country that rewards those who are prepared, and willing to work every day to achieve their own American dream. In America, we are all given the chance to achieve our dream. While I love my country of birth, I love the country I chose so many years ago, America. My family and I are examples of what can happen if you get a good education and work hard every day to achieve your American dream.

No progressive sex education

I am opposed to the thinking that matters related to sex education, orientation or identity are the responsibility of the school or belong in our curriculum. My focus remains on the basic elements of student achievement and traditional academic studies. We need to refocus our curriculum on teaching the basics such as language arts, mathematics, science and accurate American history.
